Korean actor and singer Jang Keun-suk held a press conference for his upcoming film in Japan on Thursday, reported his agency TreeJ Company.
According to a press releaes by TreeJ, some 3,500 people composed of over 100 media personnel and fans crowded the press conference for Jang's new film based on a comic titled "きみはペット," translated into "You're My Pet" in English, held at Ibaraki Prefecture yesterday.
“I’m only happy and grateful to receive so much interest and attention from the media and fans and can't wait to return the favor with my new movie,” Jang was quoted as saying in the statement.
The film's original work, by Yayoi Ogawa, was a big hit upon its release, winning the Kodansha Manga Award in 2003 and was made into a TV series starring Japanese actress Koyuki and Matsumoto Jun from J-pop idol group ARASHI the same year.
Jang made his debut in entertainment at the early age of five as a catalog model. His TV debut came in 1997 with the cable channel HBS’ sitcom “Happiness For Sale” and has since appeared in numerous dramas including youth sitcom “Non Stop 4” (MBC, 2004), historical drama “Hwang Jinny” (KBS, 2006).
He rose to super stardom in Korea and throughout Asia after starring in the SBS hit series "He's Beautiful" as the eccentric lead singer of the idol group A.N.JELL
