Actor Kim Jae-wook holds fan meeting in Japan

Actor and model Kim Jae-wook held fan meeting in Japan over the weekend, according to his promoter Lune Communication on Tuesday.

According to a press release by Lune today, over 3,000 Japanese fans gathered at the CC Lemon Hall of Shibuya in Tokyo and NHK Osaka Hall in Osaka, on January 28 and 29, respectively, to meet Kim.

At the fan meet-and-greet, Kim held a mini-concert with his four-member boy band Walrus of which he is the main vocalist.

The group performed to the songs from their first single album “Walrus” that includes the title track “Seoul Witch,” “To Be,” “Mozaic” as well as other famous rock music from overseas such as that of Nirvana, Jimmy Hendrix, Beatles and Eagles.

The mini-concert was then followed by an individual talking time, a hand-shaking session and autograph session.

“I’m glad I was able to show you an even better performance this time with my Walrus members,” Kim, who was visiting Japan for the first time in two years was quoted as saying according to the statement.

Regarding his music career, Kim also stressed his ambition to show more of the musical side of him through wide activities overseas with his band saying, “I don’t want to compromise my music but do things the way any other rock bands would do, such as composing our own music and all.”

Kim, 27, came into the spotlight after appearing in smash hit drama "The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince" (MBC, 2007) and has since made several more appearances on the small and big screen including film "Antique" (2008) and the drama "Bad Boy." (SBS, 2010).

His most recent starrer is “Marry me, Mary,” (KBS, 2010) in which he appeared alongside famed actors Moon Keun-young and Jang Keun-suk.

In late January, he again made headlines by turning a vocalist for his current rock band Walrus which released their first single album “Walrus."
