Rain posts picture of himself on Twitter

Korean singer and actor Rain, who earlier this month asked for help with social networking service Twitter, has posted a profile picture of himself on his Twitter website (http://twitter.com/29rain).

On Wednesday, Rain wrote a comment "I broke out of my egg (referring to earlier profile picture of an egg)!!!! I'm a guy who can post up pictures now~(laugh)" and uploaded his profile picture to a photo of himself standing in front of the Eiffel Tower.

An official at Rain's agency J.Tune Entertainment explained to 10Asia that Rain was in London earlier this week for a promotional event for European luxury brand MCM but is now back in Korea.

Fans who have seen his post responded, "Congratulations on figuring out how to use Twitter!" "I hope this means that you will update your account often" and "Wow! I hope you had a great time in Paris!"

Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, has been considered one of biggest stars in Korea and throughout Asia since the start to his solo singing career in 2002. He has also expanded his career into acting, playing several small screen roles such as "Sang Doo! Let's Go to School" and "Full House."

Rain then made his Hollywood debut in 2008, through the Wachowski Brothers' action pic "Speed Racer" and landed the lead role in martial arts film "Ninja Assassin" a year later.

He plans to return to the local music scene sometime this year with a new album.
