SISTAR reclaims top spot on Gaon chart after edging out 2NE1, T-ara

SISTAR has reclaimed the top spot of Gaon's singles chart last week, after holding off two popular girl groups that debuted in the top three.

While it was a highly competitive week in the music scene with the return of the K-pop queens and kings, 2NE1 and Super Junior, SISTAR has not only beaten out the two K-pop sensations but T-ara as well in the first week of July, Gaon's website showed.

The girl's big feat with "Loving U," the title track of the same name as their special summer album dropped in June, pushed down the winner of two consecutive weeks, Busker Busker down to the fourth spot.

Sitting at No. 2 is 2NE1, who returned to the music scene with a cross-genre tune of electronic and trot music.

The girls' big entry last week with “I LOVE YOU” is a fast achievement for them as the single became available online on July 5.

T-ara followed next with the title track of the same name of their mini-album “Day By Day," making a whirlwind comeback to the local music scene.

Additionally, Busker Busker’s self-written song "If You Really Love Me" took the fourth place and K-pop superstar Super Junior rounded out the top five with “Sexy, Free & Single.”

Other songs in the top ten are Huh Gak’s “One Person,” 8eight's Lee Hyun’s “My Heart Hurts,” Busker Busker’s “It’s Hard to Face You,”Sagging Snail’s “Room Nallari” and Verbal Jint’s “Pretty Enough.”

Over on the album chart, Super Junior debuted atop the list with “Sexy, Free & Single" during the same time frame.

Just behind the 13-member group is songstress Younha, who successfully landed her fourth full-track album "Supersonic" in the second place on the chart.

In the meantime, Baek Chung-gang, who made his debut after winning an audition program on MBC last year, rounded out the top three with his EP album "All Night."
