Korea's leading film distribution and production company CJ E&M has joined forces with top Japanese talenthouse Amuse Entertainment to co-produce a TV series.
CJ announced in a press release on Monday that both companies invested five billion Korean won (equaling to 4.4 million U.S. dollars) each in their latest venture named "Amuse-CJ E&M Drama Fund" to establish a limited liability company to co-produce various content.
"We recently sold cable series 'In Need of Romance,' 'Cool Guys, Hot Ramen,' 'Vampire Inspector' and 'Ten' which shows that our strategies and content have potential in the Japanese market," an official with CJ E&M was quoted as saying.
CJ also sold the distribution rights of cable shows "Killer K" and "Quiz of God 2" to Japan in November of last year.
