Korean idols JYJ, composed of members Jaejoong, Yuchun and Junsu, have been appointed PR ambassadors for the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Association (World-OKTA).
The group's promoter Prain Inc. announced in a press release on Tuesday that the trio was invited to the "World-OKTA 30th Anniversary" celebration held at the Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel in Seoul on April 18.
"We feel that JYJ fits the image to become the honorary ambassadors for World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Association since they have played such a big role in leading the Hallyu culture overseas," an official World-OKTA was quoted as saying.
"We are extremely happy to have been chosen as the PR ambassadors for World-OKTA," the members of JYJ said in the press release. "We will work hard in spreading Korea's culture overseas."
The trio made their comeback to the music scene in October of last year as a trio under the name JYJ and released their record in mid-October after which they held a global showcase and held their first concert as JYJ.
The boys kicked off their second world tour this month, starting with Thailand in early April and followed by performances in Taiwan, China and in the North American regions of Canada and New York, Washington D.C, San Francisco in the U.S.
