BEAST's Jang Hyun-seung to make musical debut in "Mozart!"

BEAST member Jang Hyun-seung will soon make his musical debut through "Mozart!"

Following after JYJ Kim Junsu, Jang has been chosen to play the lead role of Mozart in musical "Mozart!" which will raise its curtains at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on July 10, his agency Cube Entertainment announced in a press release on Monday.

"I am extremely excited that I get to make my debut as a musical actor in one of the best productions (in the history of Korean musicals). I have been trying to immerse myself to play my character because Kim Junsu and Park Eun-tae have done great jobs," Jang was quoted as saying.

Though it may be a bit intimidating in following the footsteps of Kim and Park, the idol singer said that he will try his best to present his own interpretation of the character.

"Mozart!," which first opened its curtains in Seoul in 2010, chronicles the life of the genius composer, Mozart. It has won a total of eleven honors at various musical award ceremonies around the world.

Tickets for the musical in Seoul will begin on May 16 and the performance will run through July 28.

Jang is the lead vocalist of BEAST, which debuted in 2009. The group is currently on their ongoing world tour "BEAUTIFUL SHOW" and preparing to make their comeback to the local music scene later this year.
