"Dong Yi" stays No. 1 show for sixth week

Ratings for historical epic "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown" turned to a decline this week but maintained its position at No. 1 on TV charts for the sixth consecutive week.

Figures released by TNS Media Korea revealed that "Dong Yi," into its ninth week of showing, reported an average viewership rating of 25.3 percent on Monday and Tuesday, the figure falling by 1.9 percent from last week's average.

Statistics released by AGB Nielsen Media Research also indicated that the ratings for MBC TV series this week dropped by an average 1.9 from the previous week. The show scored ratings of 25 percent on May 17 and 23.2 percent the following day.

This week's show told the beginning of the bittersweet relationship between Dong Yi (Han Hyo-joo) and Jang Hee-bin (Lee So-yeon).

Meanwhile, SBS' new show "Giant," starring Lee Bum-soo and Park Jin-hee, brought in steady ratings between the 11 to 13 percent range on both charts.
