Korean drama "Mother" has been climbing up the ranks of the box office charts in the United States since its release in the country two weeks ago.
According to statistics on the weekend U.S. movie chart of Box Office Mojo, "Mother," which bowed at No. 50 during the weekend of March 12 to 14, rose nine spots to place 41st during its second overseas session to rank 41st and gross a total 53,195 dollars. Its 10-day tally stands at 106,772 dollars.
"Mother" has received rave reviews from prestigious American magazines including L.A. Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Variety, Hollywood Report and Entertainment Weekly.
The movie, helmed by famed director Bong Joon-ho, is about the mother's fight to prove that her mentally challenged son did not commit a murder.
