Nam Gyu-ri to make appearance on one-act TV series

Nam Gyu-ri, who is strengthening her foothold in acting career, has been set to make her appearance on KBS’ new one-act drama.

In "A Killer Barber" (translated title), set to hit the airwaves on July 22, Nam will play a woman named Mija who is being chased by a private moneylender, according to Eyagi Entertainment's press release Tuesday.

Meanwhile, actor Park Sung-ung will co-star in the brutal story as the barber killer who tries to kill Mija but is obliged to live with her.

“I am really enjoying myself when shooting the scenes,” Nam was quoted as saying in the press release. “I am doing my best to make a strong appeal of Mija.”

Nam made her debut in 2006 as the leader of See Ya. After leaving the group in 2009, however, she has been pursuing a solo career by appearing in films, dramas and contributing to several soundtracks.

After wrapping up her TV special, she will star in the upcoming Monday and Tuesday series "Lovers of Haeundae" (tentative title) alongside Cho Yeo-jung, Kim Kang-woo, Jung Suk-won as well as K-pop artists Choshinsung’s Park Geonil and T-ara’s Soyeon.

KBS’ "Lovers of Haeundae" will kick off its premiere on August 13 after the current series “Big” reaches its end.
