Girls' Generation, Super Junior, 2NE1 top winners at 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards

K-pop idols Girls' Generation, Super Junior and 2NE1 have been named the top winners of this year's Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

The three artists took the grand prizes at the awards ceremony for the 2011 MAMA held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore last night.

Girls' Generation were named artists of the year, boy band Super Junior took home the award for album of the year and 2NE1's hit dance tune "I Am the Best" was crowned song of the year.

This year's MAMA, hosted under the theme of 'music makes one,' was aired live in 13 countries such as Singapore, Japan and Thailand and will be broadcasted in nations including China, the United States and France.

The awards were handed out by top Korean actors such as Lee Byung-hun, Song Seung-heon, Song Joong-ki and Kim Hee-seon with performances by international artists Black Eyed Peas' members will.i.am and apl.de.ap, Chinese pianist Lang Lang, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
