SBS' new historical saga "Deep Rooted Tree" scored its first win atop the Wednesday and Thursday primetime lineup during the third week of October.
Data from TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Friday reported that "Tree" brought in a viewership rating of 16.4 percent on October 12 and a 2.4 percent higher mark the following day, indicating that the show may soon breach the 20 percent mark.
Both charts revealed that "Deep Rooted Tree" saw a steep gain of about eight percentage points compared to last week.
"Deep Rooted Tree," the small screen adaptation of a novel by author Lee Jung-myung, tells the story of Kang investigating a case involving the serial murder of Jiphyeonjeon scholars in the Gyeongbok Palace while the king (Han Suk-kyu) comes to create the Korean written language a few days later.
MBC's comedy "Hate to Lose" saw a slight rise this week of ratings in the seven to eight percent mark on both polls.
