Tony An to join an idol group SMASH

Tony An is returning to the stage as a member of boy group after eight years since he declared his solo career in 2004, according to his agency TN Entertainment on Thursday.

An, who is a former member of Korean idol group H.O.T, will be making his comeback as a member of group SMASH with their first performance on a televised music program on March 1.

The collaboration between An and SMASH will be a month-long project and it is tentative at the moment.

"We will determine the group's future endeavors by the fans' reaction and if it goes well they will release an official album," an official with TN told 10Asia.

An, who was reported to be releasing a single album this March, cancelled the original plan and decided to join SMASH.

Meanwhile, his agency added that An's cancelled single album will most likely go on sale this summer, followed by SMASH’s new release in Japan.
