K-pop female groups KARA and Girls' Generation have once again placed within the top 20 slots of a year end music chart in Japan.
Yearly data by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (from December 15, 2010 to December 13, 2011) showed that KARA's single "Mister" was the sixth most downloaded song in the country followed immediately by Girls' Generation's "Gee."
Further down the chart, KARA's "Jumping" and "Jet Coaster Love," came in No. 22 and 23, respectively, and their fifth Japanese single "Winter Magic" came in 65th place while Girls' Generation's "Run Devil Run" ranked at No. 71.
KARA, composed of members Gu Hara, Han Seung-yeon, Park Gyu-lee, Kang Ji-young and Nicole, is currently one of the most successful Korean girl groups to break into the Japanese market.
In the meantime, both KARA and Girls' Generation will be taking part in NHK's 62nd music special "Red & White Song Battle" along TVXQ which will take place on December 31.
