Girl group f(x)'s Luna to star in musical “Legally Blonde”

Luna from girl group f(x) has been set to play the heroine of musical “Legally Blonde,” according to a press release by the show's producer PMC Production on Wednesday.

PMC stated today that Luna from the five-member idol group f(x) was cast as Elle Woods, following suit of same agency-managed Girls' Generation member Jessica who formerly played the same main female lead role.

Luna, who will be taking to the musical stage for the first time, will rotating the role with actresses Kim Ji-woo and Choi Sung-hee, the former member of female band S.E.S.

“I was always interested in musicals and it has been my dream to take on the challenge. I’m happy and grateful for the opportunity I've been given to take part in such a great piece,” Luna was quoted as saying in the statement.

"Legally Blonde" is the musical adaptation of the 2001 Hollywood hit film of the same name starring Reese Witherspoon which collected 90 million dollars in the United States alone and entered Broadway in 2007.

The Korean version of the musical took off late last year and won an award for best choreography at the fourth annual “The Musical Awards."

Luna, who debuted in 2009 as the lead vocal of f(x) also composed of Sulli, Krystal, Amber and Victoria, became popular with hit songs “LA chA TA” and “NU ABO.”
