Orange Caramel dreams 'Tokyo Romance' with 1st Japanese single

Female trio Orange Caramel, the sub-unit of girl group After School, will spread their quirky charm in Japan this fall.

An official with their agency Pledis Entertainment told the magazine this morning that the "Shanghai Romance" singers will drop the debut Japanese single on September 5.

"NaNa, Raina and Lizzy will begin promoting themselves in Japan in early August. While they are there, the girls will finish recording their Japanese single and wrap up shooting the music video. But they will be pursuing their After School activities in Korea at the same time," the Pledis rep explained.

The upcoming single will feature the remake of 1977 hit song "My Sweet Devil" by popular Japanese girl group Candies and the Japanese version of their song "Magic Girl."

Orange Caramel, composed of NaNa, Raina and Lizzy from After School, launched their unit activities with "The First Mini Album" here in June 2011.

The girls then released their hit song "A~ing♡” in November which instantly rose to top spots of major music charts upon release. Under their agency's global project dubbed "One of Asia," the trio also dropped albums "Bangkok City" and "Shanghai Romance" and expanded their activities into China last year.

Last month, meanwhile, After School broke out from their year-long hiatus with the fifth single "Flashback." As leader Kahi left the group to pursue her solo activities, an 18-year-old member named Ka-eun joined After School right before releasing "Flashback."
