Boy band Super Junior member Shindong has revealed he has a younger sister.
Shindong made the remark during a pre-recorded session of SBS talk show "Steel Heart" which aired on Tuesday, surprising viewers and fans with the news since he had been believed to be an only child.
He then went onto explain, "The reason I didn't tell people at first was because she lives with my mom and we have different last names. She follows my mom's last name and me my dad's." Shindong's birth parents are known to have divorced after he was born.
"After that, people naturally presumed I'm an only child so it was hard to find the right time to tell people that I have a sister," Shindong went onto say.
Shindong, whose real name is Shin Dong-hee, is a member of the highly popular Super Junior which has released numerous hit records and songs including "Sorry, Sorry," "It's You," "Rukkugo" and "BONAMANA."
Outside of his group activities, he has appeared on various entertainment programs as well as hosting his own radio show with KARA member Gyulee.
