Boy group Big Bang's latest release in Japan has been certified a gold album.
According to the website of the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) on Tuesday, Korea’s five-member idol group was granted gold disc status with their second Japanese album 『BIGBANG 2』, released on May 11. Under RIAJ's criteria, music content selling over 100,000 copies are certified Gold.
The album is composed of a total ten songs including their recent hits in both Korea and Japan such as “TONIGHT,” “LOVE SONG” and “Koe Wo Kikasete (Let Me Hear Your Voice).”
Composed of members G-Dragon, T.O.P. Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri, Big Bang debuted in 2006 with hit songs such as “Lies” and “Haru Haru.”
Last December, the group also won the prize for best song with their single “Tell Me Goodbye” at the prestigious 52nd Japanese Record Awards hosted by the Japan Composer’s Association.
