Kim Jeong-hoon to release new album this week

Singer and actor Kim Jeong-hoon will release a new single album this week, according to a press release by his agency Mersenne Entertainment.

Mersenne Entertainment said yesterday that the record, Kim's first release since his discharge from the military in late February, will go on sale online on April 8 and hit stores four days later.

Mersenne also revealed the photograph for the jacket of the upcoming album, showing a more masculine side to Kim than fans have seen of him so far.

"I had always given off the image of being quiet in my previous albums so I wanted to show a new side to me with this album which is my first since leaving the military," Kim was quoted as saying in the statement.

Kim will start promoting his new release through a fan meeting in Korea set for April 10, expected to be attended by fans also from various countries in Asia including Japan and the China region.

He had already held a fan event with his Japanese fans in mid-March, thanking them for the love and support they had shown him for the two years he was away serving Korea's mandatory military duties.

Kim, who debuted through male duo UN in 2000, turned to acting and a solo singing career which has gained him enough popularity in Japan to list him in the top 10 of the prestigious Oricon charts several times.
