Male duo group TRAX member Jay will enter the Korean army on March 26, making him the first member of the group to leave the spotlight to fulfill the 2-year mandatory military service.
An official with his agency SM Entertainment told 10Asia over the phone on Thursday that Jay will receive four weeks of basic training at a training camp in Busan and then serve as a public service worker for the remaining 23 months.
Jay, 28, whose real name is Kim Young-deok, debuted as a member to TRAX in 2004 with the single “Paradox.”
He took part in SM Entertainment’s ballad group called S.M. The Ballad, which launched in 2010, and also played the main lead named D’artagnan in the musical “The Three Musketeers" that staged in the same year.
