SBS drama “Sign” maintained a tight grip on the No.1 spot on primetime TV charts for Wednesdays and Thursdays for the fifth week in a row, according to reports by two major media research companies on Friday.

Medical series “Sign” scored an average viewership rating of 17.2 percent on a survey by Total National Multimedia Research (TNmS) and 18.6 percent on AGB Nielsen Media research’s (AGB) poll, continuing to take the lead among other primetime competitors but showing a slight drop in figures by around 0.2 to 0.5 percent.
In this week’s episode, Kang Seo-hyun (played by Hwang Seon-hee), the daughter of a powerful lawmaker, continued with her serial killing of all the witnesses who knew of her pervious murder of idol singer Seo Yoon-hyung (Geonil of group Choshinsung), with medical examiner Yoon Ji-hoon (Park Shin-yang), prosecutor Jung Woo-jin (Uhm Ji-won) and inspector Choi Yi-han (Jung Gyu-woon) hot on her heels.

MBC’s royal romance “My Princess,” took second place after marking an average viewership rating of 12.1 percent and 14.8 percent on the findings by TNmS and AGB’s charts, respectively, with the latter figure marking a close to two percent decline.

The final episode showed princess Lee Seol (Kim Tae-hee) being loved by the people for opening up palaces to the public and working hard to bring back the lost heritages of Korea from overseas. She also confirms her love with diplomat Park Hae-young (Song Seung-heon) with a kiss.
Starting next Wednesday, new series “Royal Family” starring Ji-sung and Yum Jung-ah that looks into the turbulent life a woman married to a rich family goes through, will go on air.

KBS’ political drama “PRESIDENT” came in last with an average viewership rating of 5.9 percent and 7.6 percent according to TNmS and AGB’s polls, respectively, about a 0.1 percent and 0.4 percent drop in numbers from the past week.

“PRESIDENT,” too aired its final episode last night in which Jang Il-joon (Choi Soo-jong) was elected the president of the country despite much effort from the existing president to stop him.

KBS will air a melodrama tilted “The Thorn Birds,” starring Han Hye-jin, Joo Sang-uk and Kim Min-jung, starting next week.
