TVXQ ‘s new album has topped major music charts in Taiwan, the group’s agency SM Entertainment said on Monday.
A press release by SM announced today that TVXQ’s latest album “Why (Keep Your Head Down),” which has yet to be licensed in Taiwan, came atop all the major Taiwanese weekly album charts including G-MUSIC, Five Music and Kuang nan.
Taiwan’s two big music chain stores FIVE MUSIC and Kuang nan, also ranked TVXQ in first place in the category of Asian music.
“Why” has been received well in Korea as well, placing first in terms of sales at local music retailer Hanteo’s chart and Hot tracks among others for three straight weeks and taking two consecutive wins on televised music programs of KBS’ “Music Bank” and SBS’ “Inkigayo.”
A legal battle between agency SM and three of its former members -- namely Junsu, Yuchun and Jaejung -- forced the group to suspend their activities altogether. The three formed a group of their own.
