K-pop idols Sung-kyu and Woo-hyun of boy band INFINITE will make their debut as musical actors through "Gwanghwamun Love Story," according to the show's promoter Rang Korea.
On Tuesday, Rang announced in a press release that Sung-kyu and Woo-hyun will rotate the role of Ji-yong alongside musical actor Jung Won-young in "Gwanghwamun Love Story" set to show at the LG Art Center in Seoul from February 7 to March 11 of next year.
"Gwanghwamun," a tribute to late composer Lee Young-hun, tells of the love triangle between Sang-hoon, Hyun-woo and Yeo-joo set in the 1980s.
The musical also stars musical actress Lisa and previously starred actor Song Chang-eui and BEAST member Yang Yo-seop.
Sung-kyu and Woo-hyun made their debut as part of seven-member boy band INFINITE in 2010. They are well-known for their hit songs including "Come Back Again," "Before the Dawn (BTD)," "She's Back," "Nothing's Over," "Be Mine" and “Paradise.”
They have been busy promoting themselves overseas with the release of their Japanese debut single "BTD" and will soon hold their concert in Korea in two months time.
Jo, who made his debut in 1998 with hit song "To Heaven," has sold millions of copies of his albums to date.
He made his comeback to the music scene in August last year with his special album "Sung-mo, Meet Brave" which fared well on various music charts.
