Raul Midon’s concert in Korea cancelled
Blind singer-songwriter and a guitarist Raul Midon who was set to perform in Korea this weekend notified via his official website today that he is calling off the concert following a massive earthquake that hit Japan late last week.
“It is with a heavy heart that Raul Midon has decided to cancel his remaining dates in Asia and head home to his family. The decision was made with his and the rest of his band and crew’s families in mind. Raul has many dear friends in Japan and South Korea. He extends his thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this unfortunate turn of event,” the website said.
The notification comes as Japan battles to prevent a nuclear catastrophe and to care for millions of people without power or water after an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.9 sent a 10-meter (33-foot) wave surging through several of its towns and cities on March 11.
Midon had initially been set to perform in Korea on March 19 after playing in Osaka and Tokyo starting today but he cancelled the shows in both countries.
Accordingly, the concert’s supervisor Southern Star Entertainment will refund the tickets starting today afternoon and also inform fans of the situation through phone.
