IU’s “The Story…” bows atop Gaon chart

“The Story Only I Didn’t Know,” by teenage diva IU, debuted atop Gaon’s weekly singles chart during the third week of February.

“The Story…” that sings of the sad realization that one's love has ended before knowing of it, is a ballad composed by a renowned singer Yoon Sang listed in IU's third mini-plus album .

Next on the chart was songstress G.NA’s “Black & White,” a song that sings of two lovers as different as the colors black and white, which got pushed back a step from the previous week to land on second place.

Another one of IU's songs, “Someday,” from the soundtrack of popular teenage idol drama “Dream High,” too slid a notch to settle at No.3.

The song sings of the hope that one day, all the tears shed from the anguish that one is going through will come to an end, reflecting the sentiment of the teenagers in the drama who yearn to debut on stage someday.

On the albums chart, three-member boy band JYJ’s first album “The Beginning - Worldwide Concert in Seoul Edition,” composed of two CDs and a DVD emerged No.1 on the list.

The album, targeted toward fans and collectors of JYJ, also contains the music video to their title song “Ayyy Girl,” as well as photos and other clips that reveal how the video was made.

Second place was claimed by IU’s third mini plus album “Real +” released last Thursday, containing tracks “The Story…,” “Cruel Fairy Tale,” and “The Story…” accompanied with a jazz piano.

Beast’s EP album “Shock Of The New Era,” released in March last year, climbed 25 steps from the second week of February to reach third on the chart. The album contains five songs including title track “Shock."
