KBS "Bread, Love and Dreams" nominated at Banff media fest

KBS' baking drama "Bread, Love and Dreams" has been nominated at the 2011 Banff World Media Festival to be held in Canada in June.

According to the official website of the media fest, "Bread, Love and Dreams" will be competing against five other international dramas under the soap operas & telenovelas category of the Fiction Rockies segment on June 14 at AOL Canada Theatre.

"Bread," helmed by director Lee Jung-sup, is a 30-part series based on the success story of baker Kim Tak-koo (played by actor Yoon Si-yoon). The series also starred actors Joo Won and actresses Kim Eugene and Lee Young-ah.

The show, which ran from June 9 to September 16 last year, took off with viewership ratings in the high 15 percent range and maintained a steady lead on the Wednesday and Thursday primetime line up.

It also became the highest viewership ratings scorer amongst other dramas in 2010, surpassing the 50 percent viewership rating mark on its final episode, as well as winning various awards at the year-end ceremonies including second prize for best actor, second prize for best actress, writers’ award, best couple and best young actor.

Meanwhile, "Bread, Love and Dreams" is set to begin its run on Japan's Fuji TV starting July.
