Singer Lee Seung-gi and Son Dambi's joint Los Angeles concert has been called off entirely due to Lee being diagnosed with the influenza flu, according to Son's agency on Thursday.
The two top singers had been set to perform at the "Lee Seung-gi/Son Dam-bi LA Concert" hosted by MBC America on November 12 but Lee was forced to cancel his appearance after coming down with the flu on Tuesday.
"The entire concert has been cancelled upon request of the host," PLEDIS said in a statement, adding that Son became upset over the news since she had been preparing remix versions for her songs and rehearsing everyday for the concert.
"I had spent time as a trainee in LA before too so I had really been looking forward to performing there. I really hope I get the chance to hold a concert again," the 26-year-old singer was quoted as saying.
She also hoped for Lee's quick recovery, saying she was shocked to hear he became sick when he too had prepared hard for the concert despite his busy schedule.
Lee is the latest in a string of celebrities, including SS501 leader Kim Hyun-joon, SHINee members Jonghyun and Onew and 2AM member Jo Kwon, who have been affected by the flu strain.
Lee has been one of the most successful figures in all realms of the entertainment industry since his debut in 2004, placing many of his songs atop music charts and leading TV series "The Shining Inheritance" to see ratings of around 47 percent.
