Yoon Son-ha removed tumor from breast

Korean actress Yoon Son-ha was belatedly known to have undergone surgery to remove a tumor from her breast.

The actress had written on her Japanese website on October 30 that she was recovering from the procedure and put up a picture of herself in bandages.

"I was examined for breast cancer last week and found something strange in my right breast," the actress wrote on the website. "I went to the hospital today to be examined and was tested to see if it was benign or malignant. I underwent a small surgery to remove a one-centimeter lump. Now I'm wrapped up in bandages."

Although the results come out next week, she went on to say that the doctor "thinks it is 99% benign" and told her to "relax and rest at home".

The 33-year-old actress, who debuted in 1994 in KBS TV series "Love Greeting", has been active in Japan since appearing in NHK TV's "Mouichido Kisu" in 2000. Known as Yun Sona in Japan, she has starred in numerous TV dramas since, most notably 2001's "Fighting Girl" with co-star Kyoko Fukada.
