Three members of Korean idol group TVXQ -- Xiah Junsu, Hero Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun -- met with their fans at a charity fan meeting over the weekend.

The members, who are currently involved in a legal dispute with their agency SM Entertainment, showed up at the charity event named "Smile Again", which took place at Korea University on Saturday.

According to a source, the members answered questions from the fans during the hour-long event and held a make-a-wish session -- one fan got her wish when Micky Yoochun performed a song that he had written. Micky told the fans that they were learning how to write songs.

Hero Jaejoong was quoted as saying, "We are [in a] different [situation] yet our fans are the same. That makes me very happy."

Hero and Micky also planned a surprise birthday party for Xiah at the event. Xiah was quoted as saying, "I hope this storm passes soon", referring to their legal troubles with SM.

The tickets for the event sold out in eight minutes when they went on sale last week. There was no admission charge but funds raised at the event site will be donated to a children's charity.

TVXQ, who debuted in 2004 with album "Hug", is one of the most successful K-pop acts in Asia. They reportedly have the largest fanbase in the world, and have enjoyed great success in the Japanese music industry in particular. The band became the first foreign artist to top the Oricon singles charts six times with their 27th single "Share the World/We are!" released this year.
