Girls’ Generation to kick off 2nd Asia tour in summer
Girls’ Generation will launch their second concert tour this summer which will cover the major cities in Asia, according to SM Entertainment on Wednesday.
A press release by SM explained that the nine-member group will kick off their second Asia tour titled “2011 GIRLS’ GENERATION TOUR" with a two-day concert set to take place at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Gymnasium in Seoul, Korea on July 23 and 24.
The girls will continue their performances in other cities across the region including Taipei in Taiwan and Nanking in China.
The group had held their first Asia tour last December which covered cities such as Seoul, Shanghai and Bangkok.
Girls' Generation, one of the most well-known female idol groups in Asia, made their debut in Korea in 2007 under SM Entertainment with their first album "Into the New World" and have produced several hit songs including "Gee," "Genie" and "Oh!"
The group later debuted in Japan in August of last year and are preparing for their nationwide tour there as well where they will hold 10 concerts in Osaka, Tokyo, Saitama, Hiroshima, Nagoya and Fukuoka from May 31 to July 17.
Tickets for the Seoul concert will become available on online shopping mall Gmarket on June 7.
