A press release from SM announced that the girls' debut single "Genie," which went on sale on September 8, has topped Japan's iTunes music video charts and placed at No. 1 on several music charts including music.jp and on mobile music sites recochoku's ringtones chart and music video clip chart.
They also took the No. 5 spot against popular Japanese singers such as Arashi and GLAY on Oricon's daily singles chart with "Genie" earlier this week.
The nine-member girl group will be promoting "Genie" in Japan by making an appearance on Fuji TV's weekday morning news program "Tokudane!" today.
The girl group recently completed the second stop of the "SMTOWN LIVE '10 WORLD TOUR" in Los Angeles and will be in Shanghai with their fellow labelmates for their third show on September 11.
