Japanese actor Odagiri Joe will visit Korea next week to serve as a judge at a film festival, according to a press release over the weekend.


The actor, who has directed short films himself, will be judging short films submitted by young college students to the finals of the 2009 International College Peace Film Festival (ICPFF), the ICPFF said in the statement.

The film fest will be held at a CJ CGV theater in Chuncheon and Kangwon University from November 26 to 29. This year, 74 film made the finals and winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on November 29.


The 33-year-old star is one of Japan's most popular and successful actors who was awarded Best New Actor for his role in "Azumi" and Best Supporting Actor in "Blood and Bones". He has starred in many hit movies including "Mushishi", "Shinobi: Heart Under Blade" and "Kamen Rider Kuuga".
