Hollywood movie "2012" looks to be the most anticipated film in Korea among moviegoers as it racks up advance ticket sales prior to its release, according to statistics posted on the Korea Film Council (KOFIC) website.
The real-time ticket reservation rate for "2012" stood at 27.9 percent on the KOFIC electronic network, surpassing advance sales for "Good Morning President" and "The Time Traveler's Wife" with 21.71 and 11.89 percent, respectively.
The film held a much-hyped world promotion tour in September, including a press conference in Seoul which was attended by top Hollywood actor John Cusack, director Roland Emmerich of "Independence Day" and producer Harald Kloser of "Day After Tomorrow".
The disaster-action flick was inspired by an old Mayan prediction that the world will come to an end in the year 2012.
