Ewan McGregor to visit Korea next week

Hollywood actor Ewan McGregor has been set to visit Korea for the first time next week to promote an event hosted by Shinsegae Department Store.

McGregor, who is currently Shinsegae's model, is visiting Seoul next Monday to join an event that celebrates the launch of the store's a month-long campaign, "Shinsegae Loves Britania."

"He will be staying in Korea for only two days but his official schedules will all be on May 7," Shinsegae's official told 10Asia in a brief interview on Monday.

During his stay, the actor will open a press conference hosted by the firm, an autograph session and a party in the evening that commemorates the campaign's start.

The "Moulin Rouge" star made his film debut in Bill Forsyth's "Being Human" with Robin Williams and John Turturro in 1993.

He has dozens of credits in films and TV series under his belt, most notably "Star Wars: Episode II ? Attack of the Clones" in 2002, "Star Wars: Episode III ? Revenge of the Sith" in 2005 and "I Love You Phillip Morris" in 2009.
