Jang has also sent aid to the country, delivering over 5,000 blankets to the victims from the earthquake and tsunami that hit several cities and towns in Japan on March 11.

"I was able to make this donation with the help of my fans in Japan that have taken part in the disaster relief," Jang was quoted as saying. "We should try to express our compassion and send out encouraging words to those in need in Japan and everywhere else in the world."

Jang made his debut in entertainment at the early age of five as a catalog model. His TV debut came in 1997 with the cable channel HBS’ sitcom “Happiness For Sale” and has since appeared in numerous dramas including youth sitcom “Non Stop 4” (MBC, 2004), historical drama “Hwang Jinny” (KBS, 2006).
