Ryu Si-won says followed around Lee Mi-yeon as student
Singer and actor Ryu Si-won says he followed around actress Lee Mi-yeon when the two were in high school.
Ryu recently made the remark on a pre-recorded session of a talk show on public network MBC whose title is translated into "Night of Shining Memories," reminiscing on his past as a student at the same school as Lee who was at the time, already a popular starlet in Korea.
Ryu explained that he was one of the numerous male students who admired Lee, and confessed that he followed her around from time to time because he became happy from seeing her, even if it may just be from behind her.
Then one day, he said that she noticed he had been following her so when the two's eyes met, he ran away from embarrassment.
Ryu, 38 and Lee, a year older, both attended Sehwa High School in Seoul. The school is divided into an all-boys and all-girls school.
Ryu has appeared in numerous dramas since making his debut in 1994, and has led a particularly successful career in Japan since debuting in the country six years ago. More recently he signed with top Japanese entertainment firm AVEX through which he is set to expand his singing career in Japan.
