“Please” stays winner on Gaon chart for 2nd week

Singer Kim Bum-soo’s ballad “Please” held onto the top spot on Gaon’s weekly singles chart during the week of April 3 to 9.

“Please,” originally sung by songstress Lee So-ra in 2000, gained popularity once again through Kim who performed on Sunday’s MBC reality show “I’m A Singer: Mission 2 Swapping Hit Songs” aired two weeks ago.

Rock band CNBLUE’s title song “Intuition” from their first regular album “FIRST STEP” placed No. 2 on the chart for the second week-in-a-row since the album’s release late last month.

Landing on the No.3 spot was trio female group Orange Caramel’s “Bangkok City” which soared 17 steps from last time.

“Bangkok City,” which is the title track to the group’s digital single of the same named released at the end of March, is a song of seduction featuring groove, electronic and funky beats with its lyrics written by poet Won Tae-hyun.

On the albums chart, Big Bang’s latest repackaged album “Big Bang Special Edition” newly entered the chart to claim the top spot, pushing back CNBLUE’s first full-length album “FIRST STEP” to second place.

The special edition released early this month is composed of 10 tracks and contains several songs from its fourth mini-album as well as new songs “LOVE” and “STUPID LIAR.”

CNBLUE's “FIRST STEP” contains a total of 12 songs including their earlier hit songs from Japan which topped various online and offline charts not only in Korea but in Japan and Taiwan as well.

Third on the chart was another newcomer, “4 MINUTES LEFT" by girl group 4minute who recently made a comeback to the local music scene.

The album, released in earlier this month, is composed of a total 10 tracks including the title track “Mirror Mirror” which has also made into the top 10 of Gaon’s latest singles chart.
