Park Hae-jin cast in new Chinese drama

Korean actor Park Hae-jin has been cast in an upcoming Chinese drama, revealed his agency W.M. Company on Friday.

According to a press release by W.M., Park was cast to play the male lead (a double role) opposite Chinese actress Li Xiang in the upcoming TV series whose translated title is "Another Shiny Life" which is scheduled to air on China's Hunan TV starting November.

"We had met with a number of actors from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan to take on the male role but we felt that nobody compared to Park," an official from production company Mango Film was quoted as saying.

"Another Shiny Life," helmed by famed Chinese director Lin He Long, will tell the story of a singer who, due to a car accident, has to live his life as another person.

Park became a household name after appearing in 2006 with a role in the KBS TV "Famous Princesses" and has since starred in various dramas including "Like Land and Sky," "East of Eden" and "Hot Blood."

"Famous Princesses" gained him popularity in China and he has led an acting career in the country since, most recently filming the small screen adaptation of Internet drama "Qian Duo Duo Jia Ren Ji” ("A marriage record of Qian Duo Duo") in which he stars opposite actress Li Xiao Ran.
