Singer Park Hyun-bin to appear on NHK music show
Korean trot singer Park Hyun-bin is set to appear in one of the top music programs in Japan, revealed his agency Inwoo Business Production on Friday.
According to a press release by Inwoo, Park who released his first Japanese debut single “Shaban Shaban” in Japan last week, will appear on NHK’s "Song Concert (NHK 歌?コンサト)," one of the top live music programs in the country on May 10.
"Song Concert" which boasts the highest viewership rating among other music programs in the country, features mostly local songs and enka singers on stage and is watched by the relatively older generation.
Park is currently traveling the cities of Tokyo, Sapporo and Fukuoka among others, to promote “Shaban Shaban” which has topped the weekly enka chart of USEN, the biggest collector of data for cable music channels, as of March 31.
His latest album, including Park’s earlier Korean hit “Shabang Shabang” re-made into Japanese and an original Japanese song titled “Sakura Michi,” was released in regular and limited versions on April 20.
Park, 28 is one of the most well-known young trot singers in Korea who debuted with single “Ppari Ppa Ppa” in 2006 and became famous with numerous hit songs such as “Shabang Shabang,” “Just Believe in Oppa,” “Gonddurae Manddurae,” and “Ouch It’s Hot,”
Having signed a contract with Irving Co., one of the largest K-pop management companies based in Tokyo, he was set for debut on April 6 but postponed the date due to the massive earthquake and a tsunami that devastated the eastern part of the country on March 11.
