Super Junior-M to perform at MTV concert in Thailand
Super Junior unit Super Junior-M have been invited once again to MTV's upcoming concert in Thailand in June, according to the show's promoter Dream Communications.
On Thursday, Dream announced in a press release that Super Junior-M have been chosen to represent Asia during "MTV EXIT Concert," hosted by MTV and government agency USAID, to be held at the 700 Year Stadium in Chiang Mai in Thailand on June 25.
"MTV EXIT" is a campaign aimed at increasing awareness and preventing human trafficking through television programs, online content, live events and partnerships with anti-trafficking organizations.
The cause helps to fight for the rights of human beings who are victims of trafficking, modern-day slaves and criminals who are forced into various forms of labor.
Super Junior-M will perform a total of five songs at the event including their title track "Sorry Sorry," from their fourth full-length album "BONAMANA," which has placed atop various music charts in Thailand.
"We are honored to take part in this meaningful concert," the members of Super Junior-M said in the statement. "We hope to send out a message to bring awareness on the issue of human trafficking."
Super Junior-M, composed of members Siwon, Donghae, Henry, Zhou Mi, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Eunhyuk and Sungmin was first formed in April 2008 as the third sub-unit of 13-member Super Junior that include other sub-groups Super Junior-T, Super Junior-K.R.Y. and Super Junior-Happy.
They released their first album ‘迷 (Me)' and received the award for Best Group in 2008 and followed it up with their first mini-album “SUPER GIRL” in September 2009.
The group will release the repackaged version of their second mini-album "Perfection" on April 29 which will go on sale in Korea and Taiwan.
