Singer Kim Bum-soo’s ballad “Please” remained atop music cable channel Mnet's singles chart for a second time in-a-row during the week of April 4 to 10.
“Please,” originally sung by songstress Lee So-ra back in 2000, was re-performed by Kim on public broadcaster MBC’s Sunday reality show “I’m A Singer.”
Meanwhile “Bangkok City” by trio female group Orange Caramel, climbed 14 steps from the previous week to arrive at the No.2 spot.
“Bangkok City,” which is the title track to Orange Caramel’s digital single of the same name released at the end of March, is a song of seduction featuring groove, electronic and funky beats with lyrics written by poet Won Tae-hyun.
The song was released as the title track to both their latest single album and their first full-length album in late March and early April, respectively,
In the meantime, the top three listings on the albums chart remained the same from last week.
Attesting to the wide popularity of MBC’s music reality show “I’m A Singer” once again, albums “I’m A Singer: Competition 2 - Swapping Hit Songs” and “I’m A Singer: Competition 1 - Singing Hit Songs of the 80s” landed at the No. 1 and 3 spot, respectively.
The No.2 spot was claimed by rock band CNBLUE’s first regular album “FIRST STEP” which is composed of 12 tracks that has recently sold over 100,000 copies since its release late last month.
