Rock legend Sting to perform in Korea next January
Rock legend Sting will hold a concert in Korea in January of next year, according to the concert's promoter Hyundai Card on Monday.
The English singer-songwriter and activist will perform at the "Hyundai Super Concert XIII-Sting" to be held January 11 next year at Jamsil's Olympic Stadium in Seoul. He will be the first artist to kick off the Hyundai Card’s series of super concerts in 2011.
"Sting is not only a musician but he is an artist that has delivered his societal message and philosophy through his music," an official from Hyundai Card was quoted as saying.
Born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, Sting has led a successful 33-year singing career. Before starting a solo career, he was the principal songwriter, lead singer and bassist of the rock band The Police.

Sting, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame, is known for his hit songs including "Every Breath You Take," "Roxanne," "Shape of My Heart" and "Englishman in New York" as well as receiving 16 Grammy Awards for his work and an Oscar nomination for best song.
Tickets for Sting's concert will be available starting November 18 at noon through the official Hyundai Card webpage (http://www.hyundaicard.com) and online reservation site Interpark (www.interpark.co.kr).
