French filmmaker Leos Carax is set to visit Korea this week for the first time in a decade, according to a press release on Tuesday.
The director, who is best known for the 1991 hit film "Les Amants du Pont-Neuf", is coming to Seoul to attend the opening ceremony of the 2009 Next Plus Film Festival, which takes place at Lotte Cinema near Hongik University.
Carax will participate in the "Leo Carax Special Exhibition" feature at the festival.
An official at the event explained that Carax will meet with the audience upon his arrival on November 4 and fly back to France four days later.

The 49-year-old director, who is also a writer and film critic, gained fame with the 1984 film "Boy Meets Girl".
His most recent work was "Tokyo!", a 2008 film made up of three segments by non-Japanese directors -- Carax, Michel Gondry and Korean director Bong Joon-ho.
