Girls' Generation Sooyoung cast in tvN's medical series

Girls' Generation's member Sooyoung will join the cast of an upcoming medical series set to air on cable channel tvN, according to the show's promoter CJ E&M on Tuesday.

CJ E&M announced in a press release that Sooyoung will play a violinist named Wee-jin in tvN's new Monday and Tuesday drama "The Third Hospital" which will begin shooting early next month.

"The Third Hospital" will surround the story of doctors working in a neurosurgery department in an alternative hospital that adopts both western and oriental medical practices.

The series, scheduled to premiere in late July, will also star actors Oh Ji-ho, Kim Seung-woo and actress Kim Min-jung.

Sooyoung already holds her experiences in acting by appearing in the sitcom "Unstoppable Marriage" in 2008, then in the film "Hello Schoolgirl" in the same year and a cameo appearance in SBS TV series "Paradise Farm" last year.
