Korean female trot singer Jang Yoon-jung kicked off her concert tour in China over the weekend, notified her agency Inwoo Business Production on Tuesday.
According to a press release by Inwoo, Jang held the first leg of her tour at Dalian People's Culture Concert Hall in Dalian of the Liaoning Province on Sunday.
All 1,000 tickets for the concert had sold out in advance but fans stood in line on the day of the show as well with the hope of securing seats, Inwoo explained.
“I’m glad my first concert in China went well. I didn’t expect so many people to come. I was really happy and moved by the audience who stood up to wave their hands when I sang ‘First Love' in particular,” Jang was quoted as saying in the press release.
Jang will take a brief break and continue with the rest of her tour set for the cities of Beijing, Qingdao, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Jang, 31, debuted in 1999 after winning the grand prize at Gangbyun Song Contest and has since released five full-length albums that contain various hit trot songs such as “Ommona,” “First Love,” “Jjan Jjara,” “Flower,” “Jang Yoon-jung’s Twist” and “Who.”
