“DON’T CRY” listed No. 1 on weekly Gaon chart

2NE1 member Park Bom’s solo song “DON’T CRY” went up a step to claim the top spot on weekly Gaon singles chart during the final week of April.

“DON’T CRY,” whose lyrics bid goodbye to one’s past love forever, is a fast R&B tune with a house beat written by veteran composer Teddy of YG Entertainment.

The chart's previous winner “Danger” by girl group f(x) swapped places with “DON’T CRY” to land on second place.

The song, which is an electronic pop dance number with guitar sounds, expressed a girl’s desire to know everything about her first love, likening him to the wooden puppet Pinocchio.

Female idol group 4minute’s “Mirror Mirror” reached the No. 3 spot after climbing up a step from the previous week.

In the meantime, the number one album of the week turned out to be four-member rock band CNBLUE’s EP album “FIRST STEP+1 THANK YOU” released after their first regular album “FIRST STEP” in late April.

The album, CNBLUE's token of gratitude to their fans for the success of their first full-length album, consists of a total four tracks including title track “LOVE SONG” and the Korean versions of Japanese songs “Try again smile again” and “Don’t say goodbye.”

The No. 2 spot was also secured by a newcomer, namely girl group After School’s first regular album “Virgin” composed of 12 tracks including the title song “Shampoo” which is a collaboration between poet Won Tae-yeon and Japan’s famed DJ and music producer Daishi Dance.

4minute’s first album “4MINUTES LEFT” that includes the aforementioned song “Mirror Mirror” as title track, went down a step to settle at third place.
