Kangta sings at non-profit organization concert in China

Korean singer Kangta sang at a non-profit organization concert in China with international artists this week, according to his agency SM Entertainment on Friday.
SM announced in a press release that Kangta took the stage for the opening ceremony performance concert hosted by the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) held at the Sanya City, Yalong Bay in China on April 14.
Kangta, the only Korean invited to the show, was joined on the stage by singers from New Zealand, Spain and Ukraine to sing "You and Me" which was the theme song for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The concert, broadcasted on China's CCTV, featured various other performances by artists from Russia, Brazil and South Africa and was attended by esteemed leaders including Dmitry Medvedev, Dilma Rousseff, Jacob Zuma, Jose Zapatero, Mykola Yanoyvch Azarov and Bill English.

The Forum is committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries closer to reaching their development goals.
Kangta, whose real name is Ahn Chil-hyun was a former member of SM’s first idol group “H.O.T.” that ruled the dance scene in the 90s. H.O.T. was also one of the earliest K-pop bands to advance overseas, gaining wide popularity across Asia with hit songs like “Candy,” “Warrior’s Descent” and “We Are the Future.”

He began his solo career in 2001 after the group disbanded the same year. He has produced some hit songs including “Polaris,” “Last Summer Night” and “Persona” and is currently preparing to resume his singing career in Asia.
