American indie pop band The Drums is coming to Korea for their first concert in the country in May, notified the concert’s organizer Private Curve on Tuesday.
According to a press release by Private Curve today, The Drums, which was dubbed 'New York’s official coolest new band' by England's prestigious music magazine NME, will perform at the V-HALL in Seoul on May 22.
They later kicked off anew under their present name The Drums, changing their music style from electronic pop synthesizer-incorporated music to guitar music and bringing in new member Connor Hanwick as the drummer.
The group then started to gain success through live club performances and began to widen their fan base also through radio.
The Drums were named one of the hottest debuting bands of the year by several renowned media outlets including New York Times and Rolling Stone magazine in 2010 and have been promoting themselves by participating in various world music festivals such as Summer Sonic Festival held in Japan last year.
Ticket reservations for The Drums upcoming Korea concert will become available starting May 6 on online shopping site Interpark.
