Mr. Big to perform in Korea in May
British rock band Mr. Big will visit Korea in May for a concert, according to the show’s organizer Access Korea on Monday.
In a press release, Access Korea announced today that Mr. Big will perform at the AX-Korea Hall in Seoul on May 8, making it their fourth time to play for their fans in Korea.
Their first visit was in 1996, the second in 2000 and the third in October 2009 as part of their world tour.
Mr. Big formed in 1988 and released seven studio albums and eight live albums which won them international acclaim, particularly their 1991 album “Lean Into It” which won platinum status in the United States.
Their biggest hit number “To Be With You” also holds the record for remaining No.1 on the U.S. billboard chart for three straight weeks as well as No. 1 on 15 other countries worldwide.
The band composed of Eric Martin, Pat Torpey, Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert disbanded in 2002 after placing a number of hits atop The Billboard and Japan's Oricon charts but returned to the music scene in 2009 after requests from fans.
Then just last month, the group released their full-length studio album “What If…” for the first time in 14 years, produced by Kevin Shirley who also produced the albums of Iron Maiden and Dream Theater.
Mr. Big’s latest tour to Asia will also cover Taiwan and several regions in the earthquake and tsunami-struck Japan including the worst-hit Sendai region.
