Korean R&B singer Wheesung will enter the army this year as part of fulfilling the country's two year mandatory military service, according his agency Nominate Entertainment on Monday.
Nominate explained, "Wheesung has enlisted to become an active-duty soldier while he hasn’t received the exact date for his entry but we are thinking it will be sometime around the end of this year."
Wheesung, whose real name is Choi Wheesung, began his music career in 1999 as an R&B singer under M Boat, an affiliate to Korean talenthouse YG Entertainment, and has since released a number of albums and singles featuring his hit songs "Can't I," "Insomnia" and "With Me."
He will release his new mini-album, composed of four tracks, next month.
